Description
This alphabet book is meant to introduce the Gujarati script to children in U.S. and other countries who are more comfortable with the English language. This book is divided into four sections. In the first section, the basic vowels of Gujarati are introduced. In the second section, the consonants of Gujarati are introduced. In the first two sections, each letter is introduced by means of a picture of a Gujarati word beginning with the letter. A good approximation to pronouncing the letter and the word in English is given. The English translation of the word is also provided. In the third section, the form of different consonants when they are conjugated with the vowels are shown. For one consonant, the changes in pronunciation when conjugated with the vowels is provided. This section provides the common variations of the letters in Gujarati. In the fourth section, the basic Gujarati numbers and counting in Gujarati are introduced.
