This book addresses some issues centered around the design; the approach is from a rather peripheral perspective; that is, not so much from within the discipline itself but in relation to the social environment, which is ultimately what gives meaning to that peculiar form of activity or action that we all agree to call design or, as is preferred in this writing, project activity. Here is not intended to establish a concept of design that is valid at any time or in any place, but for the purposes of this paper, we start from an operational definition: we understand here by design a type of particular practice whose aim is the prefiguration for the production of objects, images and environments; in other words, everything that falls within the scope of the project activity, or, more simply, the process of building the environment.
