Author: Moses, Shelia
Poet, author, playwright, and producer Shelia P. Moses was raised the ninth of ten children on Rehobeth Road in Rich Square, North Carolina. She has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Corretta Scott King Award and she has been a finalist for the National Book Award. She is the co-author of Dick Gregory's memoir, Callus on My Soul, as well as the author of six books for children and young adults: Joseph; The Baptism; Sallie Gal; I, Dred Scott: A Fictional Slave Narrative Based on the Life and Legal Precedent of Dred Scott; The Legend of Buddy Bush; and The Return of Buddy Bush. Shelia lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
